Experimental  Workshop

This class focuses on the experimental approaches to ceramics. You will be shown less conventional methods of making ceramics and introduced to new ways of hand-building while mixing a variety of different clays. You will be introduced to raw materials and pigments which can be mixed with the clay and create a variety of effects during the glaze firing. During this workshop, one will discover a more immediate, expressive approach to ceramic practice.

We will show you the possibility of mixing the clay with organic material while creating sculptural work by using flowers, grasses, branches, hair, etc.

You will be introduced to the process of marbling with the liquid clay as well as we will show you how to create marbled slabs.
