Black Tea Set Workshop

During these two days of intensive training, we will make a tea set (a teapot and a set of cups) using several handbuilding techniques.

The opportunity for beginners and advanced ceramic lovers to discover black stoneware mainly but also other clay colors (white, beige, etc.) in the friendly atmosphere of a group of max. 8 people.

Day 1 (Saturday)

Morning:

Presentation of the workshop. Creating cups with several different hand-building techniques

Afternoon:

Modeling the body of the teapot and the lid.

Day 2 (Sunday)

Morning:

Finishing the cups (handles, etc.)

Afternoon: Assembling the spout and handles of the teapot - making a tray if there is time left.

Your ceramics will be glazed by us after the workshop or you can book a "glazing class" to do it yourself.

This workshop is hosted by Violaine, ceramics artist based in Berlin.

Hosting teacher:

Violaine Toth is a Queer French ceramic artist based in Berlin, working primarily with black stoneware and minimalist tons of glazes, Violaine experiments with sculptural handles through collections inspired by Berlin's alternative culture, Neo futurism and Art Nouveau periods. Collaborating with various creatives (tattoo artists, carpenters, musicians, illustrators,..) They have been teaching pottery wheel for the past 5 years in their ceramic studio in Berlin.
